Position Summary: 


We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Portfolio Manager to join our team who will provide project management and operational support to CHARM's Drug Discovery team focused on oncology drug discovery. The role will ensure internal and external activities are executed and visible throughout the organization. Working in a team, this person will be a central integrator of Research & Development operations and planning activities. Collaborating closely with R&D teams and G&A groups in a dynamic environment to drive execution and provide visibility for CHARM's R&D activities. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Leaders to develop, refine and implement project plans and timelines, assessment of risks, and executing mitigation plans.
  • Partner with technical/scientific leads to manage contractual aspects of external collaborations efficiently and effectively, ensuring compliance with CHARM's policies and external regulations.
  • Implement strategies to track internal and external research activities and communicate proactively when potential issues/challenges arise on studies and/or timelines are not being met.
  • Create and implement a central location for the organization and storage of project files, reports, and other key information.
  • Partner with G&A functions to track contracts, budgetary projections, and forecasts.
  • Provide operational meeting management support, including meeting planning, scheduling and facilitating team meetings, and communication of outcomes along with follow up on action items
  • Integrates portfolio planning information for Research into updates and dashboards for communication to management team
  • Organize and manage program files and platforms for team communication, and regularly update databases and trackers.
  • Help build program management processes to support all R&D activities in the company.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD degree in life sciences or a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years industry experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical field, with a focus on early discovery activities.
  • Solid understanding of the principles, concepts, practices, and standards of biotechnology project management.
  • Familiarity and/or fluency in project management and team-oriented tools and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time/resource management, attention to detail, and proven success working in matrix environments.
  • Comfortable performing both administrative and project management activities.
  • Must be a hands-on individual and act as sole contributor, while working collaboratively across the organization.
  • Is solution driven and is comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead with a sense of urgency helping a diverse team perform at their best potential.
