David Baker is Scientific Co-Founder at CHARM.
David is the director of the Institute for Protein Design, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, the Henrietta and Aubrey Davis Endowed Professor in Biochemistry, and an adjunct professor of genome sciences, bioengineering, chemical engineering, computer science, and physics at the University of Washington.
David Baker has been leading the field of protein design and protein structure prediction for the last two decades, for which he received the Breakthrough Prize in 2021, and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2024. David has published over 330 peer-reviewed scientific papers, including over 20 in Science and Nature.
